Summary: Endoprosthetic joint replacement of the knee joint has become one of the most common and successful operations for patients with advanced tricompartmental knee osteoarthritis. However, many studies on the clinical outcome after knee joint arthroplasty show that patient satisfaction is lower than originally thought and that up to one-fifth of patients are not completely satisfied with the postoperative outcome.
